SUPPORT MEETINGS

If you or someone you care about has come out as LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, or other queer identity), PFLAG Pensacola’s monthly support, discussion and education meetings are here for you!

PFLAG Pensacola currently offers the following meetings:

• Monthly Adult Discussion Groups​
• Monthly all-ages social events and meetings
• Monthly Adult Social Events

Registration is required for each meeting, and a private link will be sent to your email address to access the meeting. Join our mailing list, our Facebook page, and our Instagram to get notifications of all meetings and other events!

WHAT TO EXPECT AT A SUPPORT MEETING

• A warm welcome, presentation of group guidelines, and brief introductions
• Facilitated discussion based on the needs of the attendees
• Our support groups focus on challenges and feelings associated with coming out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning – LGBTQ+ – and the way this impacts relationships with families, friends, and our larger communities.
• We provide support by listening carefully, sharing our own stories, and discussing our own problem-solving experiences.
• The facilitator(s) want everyone to have a chance to bring up any issues they want to raise during our meeting.  However, we will not “call on” people and put them on the spot, knowing that not everyone is ready to share.
• Wrap-up and announcements
• Confidentiality is a top priority
• You may participate in the discussion or just observe, whichever you feel most comfortable doing.
